This new release from was tasted by our team this past week. Augusta Distilling is a smaller operation in Augusta, Kentucky that sits on the banks of the Ohio River. Their unfiltered, cask strength 10 Year Old is the baby brother to the award winning 13 year old and recently came into the Rochester market. It's a full-throttled style that offers a rich mix of chocolate, leather, and oak, perfectly balanced with sweet notes of cardamom, brown sugar, and dried cherry. The spice, though subtle on the nose, comes through strongly on the palate, enhancing the sweetness and barrel character. Despite the $175 price tag, it delivers well beyond its age statement, making it worth the investment. Only 6 bottles allocated to us until more comes later this fall!
