Danilo Thomain Description
A luxurious red from the Alpine region of Valle d'Aosta, Italy this is made of of 100% indigenous Petit Rouge from Danilo Thomain's tiny terraced vineyard. The name "Enfer d’Arvier" means the “hell of Arvier,” a reference to the intense heat of this vineyard site in summer. The vineyards are situated in a steeply terraced “bowl” that faces directly south and the heat is intensely concentrated on the vines. It is a tiny but rather remarkable site; wine has been made there since the 13th century! Slightly sanguine, this wine reflects the tensions of the hectares it comes from: chilly alpine nights contrasted with scorching days in the sun. It has an acidic yet lush profile.
