Papalin is Velier’s project of restoring the 19th century tradition of blending rums from various distilleries. Each year they release their blend from a single tropical island. The 2024 version focuses on Jamaica and includes casks from Worthy Park, Long Pond, and Hampden. It’s their highest ester content rum to date and it is a powerhouse. As soon as you pull the top off, people in the room will turn their heads. The nose is intense, packed with aromas of bananas, nail polish, brown sugar, vanilla cake, and cinnamon. A little sip will show flavors of pineapple, banana, sugar syrup, spice and oak. The finish will linger for several minutes.
