Setaro’s Aglianico “Terramatta” comes from vines planted in Tirone della Guardia in Vesuvio National Park’s black volcanic sand. Fully de-stemmed and given a three-day pre-fermentation cold soak, this ferments briefly and spends a year in stainless steel before a brief passage in used oak. Notes of dried herbs, licorice, and supple red & black berries are present but are quickly lifted by the wine’s finesse and bright finish.
