A distinctive and noble Provençal red wine that calls to mind properly aged Bordeaux. Simone Rouge is largely based on Grenache and Mourvedre but is spiced up with Cinsault & Syrah as well as the rare indigenous varieties Castet, Manosquin, Théoulier, Tibouren, and Picpoul Noir, among others. Average vine age is 50 years, with many well over 100. The wine is aged for 18 months in large foudres and is eventually transferred to neutral barrels for another year of rest before bottling.
