Listán Negro is a native grape grown on the island of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. This red grape is low in tannins, reminiscent of Gamay, and lends itself well to the volcanic, black soils of the vineyard. The fierce winds coming from the Sahara desert and the Atlantic ocean require the vines to be planted in literal holes in the ground called hoyos. 100% Listán Negro aged 5 months in French oak from the Allier forest. Notes of red fruits, vanilla, licorice, green tobacco and hints of cocoa.
