Nathalie Richez started her own domaine from scratch in 2011, and is producing pure, powerful wines from underappreciated appellation like Auxey-Duresses. This village’s more powerful signature of iron-tinged earth is well suited to a heartier elevage, and Nathalie employs 25% new oak for this wine’s 18-month stint in barrel. This wine is serious and structured, with firm tannins and a bold, slightly creamy red fruit profile. This wine will stand up to very hearty cuisines.
