This is a Champagne that I never tire of. Made from estate vines in the Cotes de Blancs from a 4th generation grower, this wine is partially vinified in oak and is aged 4 years on the lees. It's got a creamy mouthfeel, and is packed with electric notes of zesty citrus, chalky minerality, brioche and a hint of toasted almond. It's the complete package and is one of my all-time favorites, especially considering the price.
Wine Spectator: 92 Points
A sleek Champagne, with flavors of white cherry and blood orange that are ripe and expressive, accented by honeysuckle, minerally chalk and sliced almond notes. Well-knit and fine in texture. Mouthwatering finish.
Wine Enthusiast: 91 Points
Vertus is at the southern end of the Côte des Blancs. The Champagnes have softer textures and this is a good example. So, it is a finely wrought wine, white fruits and textured acidity already in harmony, giving freshness and richness at the same time.
