Bruno Verdi Description
'Cavariola' is the Bruno Verdi greatest cru, from a vineyard on a west-facing slope with well-drained sandy clay soil. A blend of Croatina, Barbera, Uva Rara, and Ughetta di Canneto, the wine is simultaneously bright, dark, and spicy, recalling the cool nights and mornings of its home in the Oltrepo Pavese. On the nose, notes of dark plums and black fruit dominate, framed by notes of leather and tobacco. Break out the Osso Buco and braised meat dishes; this wine is a perfect match.
