Chapelle des Bois Description
From parcels heavily infused with granite, this is the classic, workhorse wine of the estate. Winemakers Chantal and Eric treat the vines only when necessary in order to rescue a crop, and their no-fuss cellar methods—spontaneous fermentation, traditional semi-carbonic maceration in cement vats, and aging in large 50-year-old wooden casks—produce Beaujolais of vivid fruit, terrific freshness, and structure enough to develop well in bottle. Notes of strawberries, raspberries, and flowers, this energetic wine is an absolute delight.
